Pacific Rim a Science Fiction/Action made in 2013 and is age rated 12.
The opening of the movie starts of with a very clear and deep voice, explaining and talking about him when he was a child and what had happened in San Francisco when he was 15. This unfortunately shows that the narrator hasn’t had a good experience in life as he grew up. But eventually as he got older he The sound track of the opening scene gradually increased and decreased when the narrator was talking. The soundtrack would go up if there were a problem that couldn’t be solved e.g. the aliens ruining their city. The intentions of the director having a soundtrack to increase volume while the city was getting in danger was to increase the tension, so the audience would feel scared and frightened of what was currently happening in the movie.

Lord of War is a Crime/Drama/Thriller that was made in 2005 and is age rated 15.
Within the beginning of the movie you hear some sort exotic noises suggesting that the settings of the movie could be dangerous, after wards you can hear a machine gun firing, which gives the audience the feeling and the idea what the movie is about. While the soundtrack in the background is happening the camera goes from below the ground where there are golden bullets lying on the ground, then the camera goes up to Nicholas cage having him in a slightly high angle perspective showing that he is kind of important in the movie. He has a monologue with the audience saying: "There are over 550 million firearms in worldwide circulation. That's one firearm for every 12 people on the planet. The only question is: How do we arm the other 11?". destroyed, as he says these shocking, dark words: "how do we arm the other 11?".
This shows that this movie is about weaponry, and starts us off by showing us a warehouse or a factory showing people are working and then it suddenly shows how bullets are made and takes the audience on a journey showing the process of how a bullet is made. After the bullet is made it shows that the boxes of the bullets are sent to the Russian military and then it gives some sort sound that the audience get the impression that the bullets are getting shipped to a country in Africa, suggesting that the countries are fighting and having a battle with them selves, because it shows they don’t want to eliminate the riots and bad people that kill others randomly. The music in the background is 'for what it's worth' by Buffalo Springfield, which say the words "I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound? Everybody look - what's going down?", this music can give a lot explaining and ideas to the audience in regards to what the movie is about.

Trainspotting is a Drama that was made in 1996, age rated 18.
The opening of this movie showed the protagonist (Ewan McGregor) running away from a group of people, when a voice-over plays along with him running. This immediately gives the audience a good idea of what the movie is going to be about and what they would expect from the movie. When he is running in the beginning he almost gets hit by a car, and as he looks towards the car (in the direction of the audience) he laughs and the movie stops but the music keeps playing as words come up upon the screen displaying his name. Throughout the beginning of the movie it consistently goes in a fast pace and stops when the characters name come on the display, so the audience could keep up with what is happening in the situation. A football hits him and he starts to fall to the ground, and it changes to another scene of him showing him falling as he is smoking, moving back and forth through the different moments in time. This technique is very effective, because it helps the audience to understand more in depth about each of the characters personalities. The accent of the narrator gives us a bit more information in regards to where is from and what type of personality he might have from the way that he speaks and the way that he speaks.

Saw
The opening of 'Saw' starts from a black screen, where a small moving light appears revealing that there is a man who is underwater, the man's eyes suddenly open and you can feel the struggle through the water as the man quickly tries to escape out of it. He then gets out of the bath that he was in and tries to figure out where he is, through the pitch-black darkness he is seeing and says "someone help me". By that short piece of dialog that gives the audience the impression that you can hear fear in the mans tone from his voice. There is also another man, who is able to turn on the lights, the camera switches to under the bright lights where we hear a crack of the bulbs, and repeats this three times, switching back and forth from the man's face to the lights above. The man's eyes are fully closed with his mouth open as the lights are shining so brightly. The repetition of the shots changing back to his face emphasis the pain the light had caused to his eyes so suddenly.

Sci-Fi
Science fiction horror films usually tend to include science experimentation, alien life and many more. This particular sub-genre is a less of a typical horror movie, because there isn’t that one single killer that will scare people or take a way lives, but Sci-Fi is more of a movie that there would be a large amount of killers that would need many people to stop e.g. like an alien invasion.

Psychological horror
Psychological thrillers are movies that rely more on messing with your mind than on gore and violence. I think that psychological horror is scarier, because they often deal with things that could actually happen, or they tap into basic human fears.
